Farewell Party

The Burrow was once again host to party-goers.

As Hermione was parking outside, Lucy's car pulled up behind them. Rose jumped out and ran to greet her friend.

'Hey Rosie, how's things?!'

'Great, thanks for coming!' Rose dragged Lucy out of the car. 'Ok, so I've had a thought about this whole flying thing. I ran my idea past Scorpius and he's skeptical, but I'm thinking we give it a try.'

'Awesome, I'm totally down for whatever!'

Rose grabbed her Nimbus out of the boot, and pointed to the Quidditch pitch.

'Sweet. Let's go!'

'Rosemary Minerva!' Hermione called after her. 'Aren't you going to say "hi" to everyone first?!'

'We'll be two minutes!'

Hermione shook her head and helped unload the car. Scorpius followed Rose and Lucy. Hugo spotted Josh, and ran over to him and Albus.

'Hi Em, how are you?' Draco asked Lucy's mum as she unbuckled her son's seatbelt.

'Yeah, not too bad. You guys ready for the move?'

'Just about!' Hermione said. 'How's little Eddie doing? His accidental magic a little more under control?'

'Seems to have settled down, yeah. Thankfully! Mostly just flares up when he's upset about something. He's excited to start nursery at Manor Park next week, hey kiddo?'

Eddie shrugged his shoulders. He had recently turned three and was still unsure of all the new friends his family had made.

'That's good,' Draco smiled. 'Thank you all for coming to the party. Rose was so excited to hang out with Lucy for a bit.'

'Of course! Lucy jumps at any chance to come here.'

Hermione grinned and held the gate open for everyone. She remembered how magical The Burrow had felt when she first started visiting the Weasleys.

Rose mounted her broom, and shuffled as close to the front as she could. She firmly gripped the handle in front of her.

'Ok, Lucy. You ready?'

'Heck yeah!'

Scorpius stood nearby, his phone pointing at the girls.

'Are you videoing this?!' Lucy demanded. 'So rude!'

'Ignore him!' Rose said, gesturing rudely at her brother. 'Alright, hop on!'

Lucy stepped up behind Rose, nervously sitting on the broom. She held on tightly to Rose's t-shirt.

'Let's go!' Rose yelled, kicking off.

The broom jerked slightly upward, then shook violently under them. They hovered a few inches in the air before the handle nosedived, spilling them onto the ground. Scorpius laughed, running forwards with his phone outstretched. Rose shoved the camera out of her face, grumbling.
