~In which Nana is in the news~

LEE NANA TRAGIC BACKSTORY??

Hey guys! It's me Lili, back at it again with the BTS theories. You know me, I'm basically the (Shane Dawson–yikes) Ryan and Shane of BTS. There's just so much that we have yet to figure out. It feels like everything they do is part of some sort of theme or mystery and... I'm getting off track. Anyway, this isn't a music theory post, but a theory, if that's even the right word, about my favorite member, Nana.

(Edit as of 7/4/20: I don't support cancel culture, however, I don't really like Shane Dawson. He's done a lot of problematic things, and, in my personal opinion, is just annoying. I never even got through one of his videos. Honestly, what really sealed the deal for me was his "m*st*rb*t*ng" to a picture of then-child Willow Smith. That's just disgusting, no matter the context. Buzzfeed Unsolved is way better anyways.)

To recap, this has been an eventful week. Tbh I didn't even think it was real when I heard, I thought people were trolling around on Twitter. But then I saw it on the news and I saw the official message from Bighit. Nana was kidnapped by some whack ass sasaeng fans, but luckily, she was rescued within a few hours and she wasn't injured badly. I swear I still can't believe that we could have lost her just like that. My heart goes out to her family and friends, especially the members. I know it must be terrible almost losing the closest person to you. I sincerely hope that Nana recovers and I just want to let her know that she has me and all of her fans' thoughts and prayers.

Anyway, as I was trying to find some more information about the kidnapping at the time, I was surfing the web for articles on the status. I directly typed in the words "lee nageum kidnapping". It just so happened that I was in one of those moods where I just kept clicking to go to the next page. Kinda like when you keep clicking on those words that direct you to other pages on Wikipedia and all of a sudden you're reading about like serial murders in 1978 when initially you were looking at a page about fuji apples. Well, I was looking through the names of the articles when one of them caught my eye.

Here's the link: Twins Kidnapped in Broad Daylight. Guess who were the twins? That's right: Lee Nageum and her twin brother Lee Namu. Honestly, I would have had my doubts, I'm sure there's a lot of Lee Nageums in Korea, but her twin basically solidified it for me. For a quick summary, apparently they were in this really weird case. It was like 2004, and some sickos decided, "hmmm, I really feel like kidnapping some kids", so they just took them. It was around noon and they were just going to the store with their biological parents. I guess they wandered down another aisle out of sight and that was that. They were just grabbed, and it seems like the kidnappers didn't even care if they were seen. They just took them and ran out.

Here's links to pictures I found through some other researching (don't look if you are sensitive to blood or violence): Twins found alive after grueling five-hour chase, Lee Nageum and Lee Namu, the miracle children, Twins left to deal with the death of their parents after being kidnapped.

Actually, it gets worse, too. Their parents were killed in the chase. Of course, for anyone, it would be hard to sit still while your children are missing, so they were the first to take off in pursuit. They were gunned down in the middle of the road, so the twins had to deal with both the psychological trauma of being taken as well as the murder of their parents.

If you've taken a look at the pictures, you can see that their clothes are incredibly bloody, so I guess it can be assumed that they weren't taken without a struggle. Nana has a bunch of blood around the middle of her shirt and on her forehead. And you know how Nana's brother is deaf, and that's why she knows sign language? There's blood dripping out of his ears. Maybe that's how he became deaf, if he wasn't already??? (Tbh I just connected those dots after looking back at those pics, but now it makes so much sense.)
