Real World Inspiration
Writers admitted that the Trinity killer was loosely based on Dennis Rader, the BTK killer. Like Trinity, BTK appeared to be a normal person. Rader was a family man who was also active in the Christ Lutheran Church and the Boy Scouts. He also was caught through his work with the church.
