Snowflakes P.O.V.
I woke up in my den my head still throbbing. Shard had laid down next to me. His whiskers twitched and his ears perked up when I looked at him
"Your awake!" He exclaimed
"How did I get here?" I groaned
"Darkness found you passed out next to a tree and she brought you back to our den and laid you down in your nest." He explained. I groaned in pain. "Are you okay Snowflake?"
"The fox threw me and I hit my head on a tree trunk before I passed out." Shard nodded
"And- while fighting the fox Rain died" he mewed quietly I gasped "I'm so sorry!" Rain was Shard's father. Now he had no family members alive. He had a sister. But she was born weak and the healers knew she wouldn't live for very long. She died when she was four moons old. Her name was Berry. She was a pure white she-cat she also could not hear anything.
"You don't have to say that. You didn't do anything" he softly mewed it almost sounded like a whisper. Fern and Shrew ran into our den
"Shard can she play with us yet?" Shrew asked Shard eagerly
"What are you playing?" He asked his eyes squinted
"Branch-toss!" Fern and Shrew answered at the same time.
"Come on in!" I said before Shard could decline it. Shrew and Fern ran in Fern had a stick in her mouth. I stood up and unsheathed my claws. I scratched the dirt behind my nest in a straight line. Half way across the den I made a claw mark from one end to the other.
"Okay Fern, you go first" I said facing the kittens. Shard stood next to me.
"I'll take care of the kittens you rest." He said I widened my eyes
"Are you sure? I know you don't like taking care of them" I mewed
"Yes it's fine you get some rest and eat something" he mewed I padded back to my nest, curled up and went to sleep.
