Butterfly wishes seven (not been edited)

When I woke up the next morning, Ozzy was still sleeping; I placed a light kiss on his cheek and carefully, tried to stand up without waking him. It was a little tricky as his right arm was wrapped right around my waist.

When I was sure that he was not going to wake, I tiptoed to the kitchen to make breakfast, often when Ozzy and I fall asleep like this, he always gets up first and he normally makes breakfast for us both, so on the rare occasion that I’m up first I always try and make and effort and bring him something to eat when he wakes up.

After I shook him awake after placing down an omelette, a glass of orange juice and a bowl of fruit, I headed upstairs to give the same to my mother. When I was on the landing I realised that my mom’s bedroom door was shut, she always has it open even if it’s just probably a few centimetres, so I felt my heart rate rise in worry. I pushed the door open slowly and gasped, it looks like she never even came home last night; the curtains were open and the light was shining in through the windows and her bed was all neat and untouched.

I quickly ran back down stairs and ran outside to the little hut that mom made in our back garden, when I tried to pull on it though it wouldn’t budge. So that meant she wasn’t in there either.

“Ella?” Ozzy called, I turned and saw him walking towards me looking very confused “What are you doing? He asked as he came closer.

“My mom’s missing! She’s not in here and not in her bed, she didn’t come home last night because the bed is all neat and Ozzy she only went out to get some milk, what’s happened to her? How could I have been so stupid to fall asleep last night without realising that she wasn’t back. Oh goodness I’m the worst daughter in the world,” I sobbed; Ozzy came forward and pulled me into his arms and rubbed my back comfortingly.

“El, it’s okay, she called last night just when you fell asleep, she said that her friend called her just as she reached the shop, she was going into labour and she needed someone to go with her to the hospital and since her boyfriend wasn’t there she called you mom. “He explained to me, pulling a tissue out of his pocket and gently pressing it to my eyes.

“Oh,” I said feeling myself come out of panic mode “Why wasn’t her boyfriend there?” I asked him, not understanding the story very well.

“He...the baby was early and he’s in Ireland on a course.” He replied, turning back around and making a few steps to the kitchen door.

“How early?” I asked suspiciously.

“5 weeks.” He replied without turning around. I sighed and shivered as I realised that I was standing outside in the middle of October in, I hurriedly jogged after Ozzy to reach the warm house.

“What do you want to do today?”Ozzy asked me as he picked up the box of matches that was on the shelf to the light thr fire. This was the only fireplace that we had in the house and I was so happy that it ran by matches, it reminded me of old times in my previous house, where I used to sit for hours in the evenings all snuggled up with Muffin who was my cat and drink my hot chocolate.

“I’m not sure, I still have some work to finish off before tomorrow.” My shoulders automatically slumped ay the thought of going back to uni after my long weekend. “Chloe mentioned something about shopping as well, so I may be doing that.” I added.

Ozzy nodded “I’ve got to finish some work off as well, do you want to meet for dinner maybe?” he asked picking his coat up and walked toward me.
