"Hiccup!" A loud voice suddenly bellowed from behind him, startling him suddenly, making him jolt as he turned around.

"Ye be'er stop dazin' off like tha' lad. Yer work is star'in to suffer Hiccup." Gobber said boldly, waving the hammer that was attached to his prosthetic hand, scolding him in the process.

"Sorry, Gobber." He mumbled, turning back around to face his project that he had been working on for several hours, despite the fact that much of that time was spent focussing on the memories that kept coming back up.

He picked up one of the tools that he had dropped when Gobber startled him, and continued to fix the saddle that had fallen victim to an angry zipple back.

As best he could, he shut out the thoughts that tugged at him, focusing on re-assembling the burnt and torn saddle.

"Hey, Gobber." An all to familiar voice said from behind him. Hiccup froze in his actions, his body stiff as a rock, unable to move. His heart beat began to increase as he could feel her eyes burning into his back he took several deep breaths, attempting as best he could to calm himself down.

Gobber took a glance over at Hiccup, knowing what was going on between him and Astrid, he stepped in, turning his head around to greet her.

"Mornin' Astrid. Wa' can I do for ye'?" He asked her.

"I just need my axe sharpened." She cheerily exclaimed to him.

"Right. Just gi'me a wee bit." He said, turning his head back around to face the saddle he was fixing.

Hiccup re-focused as best he could, but the saddle was far less worrisome and troubling then the distraction that stood behind him.

Hiccup glanced over at Gobber with just his eyes, trying his best to make look like he wasn't looking at him. Gobber then turned his eyes towards Hiccup as if to sense his stare.

Gobber quickly directed his stare towards Astrid, then back to him. Hiccup then have him a look that would have phrased, "are you insane!"

Gobber then have him a your-going-to-have-to-face-her-sooner-or-later look.

Hiccup glared at him again, but Gobber turned his attention back onto the saddle that lay in front of him.

Knowing Gobber, Hiccup knew that he wasn't going to budge. Hiccups heart raced faster and faster as the seconds trailed on.

Hiccup took a long deep breath in, attempting to calm himself down, but it didn't help.

He slowly placed down the tool that he held in his hand next to the saddle. He turned around to face her, but kept his head down to the point where he could see that axe that he had to retrieve, but also to the extent where he could avoid eye contact best he could.

He started to cautiously walk towards her, stoping when he was about a foot away from her. He reached out his arm to obtain the axe from her, quietly saying "I'll take that." while he did so.

"Thanks," she quietly and awkwardly replied to him, handing her axe over to him, followed by brushing her blonde bangs away from here eyes. Hiccup knew her well enough to know that when she did that it was a clear sign she was uncomfortable.

He walked over to the large round stone and proceeded to spin it. He then placed the axe on the large spinning stone, and proceeded to take deep breathes, calming his racing heart.

He replayed the soft, subtle 'thanks' that she had given him. Had she actually just talked to him after 2 years of avoiding it? Hiccup was in shock.

He had finally finished sharpening her axe, uncomfortable about the fact that he was holding onto the handle where Astrid's hands had grasped numerous amounts of times.

He held it up, examining the blade carefully, making sure it was done properly and he had made no errors while he was dazed in thought.

He turned around and walked back over towards her, keeping his eyes strongly on the axe, as if to still be examining it as a clever excuse to avoid her tempting blue eyes.

"Thanks." She said in the exact same way as earlier, taking the axe in her hand and turning around quickly, walking away briskly as if to escape the awkward situation as quickly but as normally as possible.

Hiccup let out a breath of long awaited relief, turning back around and walking towards the saddle he had attended to.

"Well tha' wen' be'er than I expected." Gobber said, letting out a sly laugh.

Hiccup turned to him giving him a look of pure hate.

"You hate me, don't you." Hiccup said to him, keeping his eyes on him, awaiting a response.

"I don't hate ye' lad. Just tryin' to help ye' out." Gobber replied.

"How was that helping? You know her and I aren't exactly on speaking terms." Hiccup said, a bit of annoyance arising in his tone.

"Well, things havn' exactly been the same around here since you two stopped talkin'." Gobber replied.

Hiccup was about to respond, but. Toothless suddenly came through the door, making a grumbling noise in his throat.

"Hey, bud." Hiccup said, walking up to his loyal Night Fury friend, placing a gentle hand on his nose, lightly patting it. Toothless nudged him with his nose, and Hiccup seemed to pick up on what each of toothless's signals.

"Sure bud, we can go flying." He said. Toothless perked up and nudged him again.

"Gobber, I'm going out. I'll see you later." Hiccup said, leading Toothless outside, proceeding to mount his saddle.

"Ok lad, don't go too far now ye' hear." He said scolding him once again with the hammer attached to his prosthetic hand.

Hiccup gave him a nod of understanding and took off with toothless into the skies.

They soared swiftly through the air, the white clouds slowly building around them. It's was peaceful, calm and relaxing, but Hiccups heart continued to race.

He began feeling light headed. He didn't know if it was because of the summer heat, or the thought of what had just happened between him and Astrid.

The dizziness increased and he was beginning to feel even more light headed, to the point where he couldn't even process thoughts properly.

He began to lay himself down onto toothless's back. But it didn't help. He slowly felt his eyes growing heavy, and seconds later, everything around him, was black.
