It had been 2 years. 2 long, depressed years since their fight. They were both 17 during that time. They hadn't seen it coming, although they recall the several reasons they had began to fight about in the first place, the faint visions of each other during those frantic moments still lingering in their minds, coming back to haunt them.
Neither of them had spoken since that day. They would pass by each other in the village, but kept their distance if either had the knowledge that the other was near. They never made eye contact, never even took a glimpse of the other.
Through those 3 years, each had memories regarding what has happened, bringing a stinging sensation to them whenever the argument came back to their minds, they shook it away best they could, but in just fell to the back of their minds, soon to come again.
"You can't just pull something like that over my head that quickly Hiccup!" Astrid yelled at him, throwing one hand up in distress.
"I'm sorry for thinking that everything was going right!" He shouted back at her.
"You can't just ask a girl out of the blue to marry her like that! Hiccup, you're better than that!"
Hiccup opened his mouth, about to say something, but Astrid put her hand up, preventing him from speaking further.
She put her hand down, taking a step backwards, slowly making her way backwards towards the door in his house "You know what, Hiccup? I'm done. I can't do this anymore, I'm sorry, but it's over."
She stormed out the door, leaving Hiccup alone in his house, shock mixed with confusion and anger plastered to his face.
Those were the memories that haunted their minds, taking them back to that day 2 years ago.
