[ Due to the confusion that may occur while reading this short story about a woman going through/dealing with heartbreak. ]

She is verbally speaking with the man who has left her to seek someone new.

As you've noticed during their interaction they have been split up with scenes.

These scenes are in place to separate events, settings, and people.

Each scene is to help foreshadow a different mood change that occurs within her as each scene changes.

As you read along, I'm sure you've noticed the lack of detail that's spoken between the characters.

There's more dialogue then interaction.

This occurs because words speak louder than actions.
