They built;
Good roads,
Beautiful homes,
Magnificent temples,
State of the art research labs,
The best universities and institutions of learning,
A space program and explored the universe!
But they tended not their hearts, and in the place of wheat,
grew weeds,
They forgot;
Love,
Joy,
Peace,
Patience,
Kindness,
Goodness,
Faithfulness,
Humility,
& self-control!
And in its place grew;
Immorality,
Filth and perversion,
Indecency,
Idolatry & Witchcraft,
Jealousy, anger, hate and selfish ambition,
and every form of corruption!
They neglected the source of life,
And their house of cards came crumbling down on their heads.
They and their children payed the price of their ignorance!
Hi guys, the purpose of this poem is to open the eyes of the reader to the things that really matter in life. We all need material comfort, we have been wired that way, but we shouldn't seek them at the expense of our souls.
Jesus once warned his followers, "Why gain the whole world and lose your soul?"
