Hey! Just to start off, thank you for making me 10th in the Paranormal catagopry. Y'all are awesome! Anyway, I will be on vacation for the next week and a half, so I will most likely not be posting until after. So, here is the new chapter. This is kind of a filler, since it has nothing to do with the plot of the story. Anyway, be sure to vote, comment, fan, cook bacon, not neccissarily (Did I spell that right?) in that order. So, enjoy!

“hmmmmmm….” I drowned on while writing my newest idea. What about a ghost story? Now, that’s a good one. I began to write out a rough prologue. I was at the tree house-which I found to be very inspiring- and was bored out of my mind. It had been a week since Tobias had sent Emerson running. Emerson was back at his college now, and I was bored. So, I did what I always do in times of boredom: write.

“What’s that?” I heard over my shoulder. I turned around to glare at Tobias. What I didn’t realize, what that he was RIGHT behind me. We were so close that our breaths mingled together. His coffee brown eyes studied my face; his soft, pale lips-

Wait, what? I was NOT just thinking about his lips-or his eyes, for that matter. I turned back to my journal, positive my face was a fire-engine red. I focused on writing, pretending to be unaware of the smoldering stare of the ghost behind me.

I watched in horror as a pale hand reach around and grab my journal. He flipped through the pages nonchalantly, skimming each and every page.

“This thing, again?” He asked, his face breaking into a wide grin when her reach the most recent page, “A ghost story, huh? Very original…” He drawled out, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Give it back!” I demanded as I made a grab for my journal, to which Tobias quickly got out of my way.

“Ah, ah, ah, not until I finish,” he said with a smirk. Ugh, that jerk! Sadly, I knew I wasn’t winning this one. I waited patiently, albeit with a scowl on my face, for him to finish. His face continued to change as he read each paragraph, making me feel self-conscious. What if he didn’t like it?

“Interesting,” he said, tapping his chin for good measure, “But ghosts don’t exist.”

I could only gape at him. But then he smiled, making me understand that he was joking.

“Hey, um, there is something I want to ask you,” I said, not sure how to put it. It was an awkward question, especially for a ghost.

“Ask away,” he stated, taking a seat across from me.

“Um, how did you die?” I asked, flinching. I turned to gage his expression. Sadly, it darkened for a second, and I knew I shouldn’t have asked. It had been plaguing me for a while, and I figured I would give it a shot. Suddenly, he smiled brightly, confusing the heck out of me.

“I believe that is a question for some other time. Besides, we have company,” he said, watching the door. Surely enough, Joy entered.

Sure that Joy would freak out at the sight of Tobias; I leapt out of my comfortable chair and stood directly in front her, blocking Tobias. But it was too late. She had seen him. I reached to catch her if she fell, but what she said next surprised me.

“Hello, Tobias,” She said leaning to see around me. I stared dumbly between the two of them.

“You two know each other?” I asked, astounded.

“Yes, for quite some time. She even tried to kill me,” Tobias replied.

“I thought you were the other one,” Joy stated, her face grim.

“Who’s the other one?” I asked, confused out of my mind.

“Well, you see, Joy hunts ghosts down, but only if they are a threats to the living. She has tried to track him down but he always disappears right as she gets close to catching him. Those who know of him call him The Despicable Hunter, because he hunts down and kills one victim at a time. You know him as Red-eyes. He is the reason that man went crazy, and he was one of the lucky ones. Most die of fright at the sight of him,” Tobias explained.

“Some were even lucky enough to know him amongst the living,” Joy said, as if she knew something I didn’t. Tobias shot her a glare from across the room. I had no idea what she was talking, or why Tobias was so angry.

“Anyway, so since I was in the neighborhood, literally, when the man went crazy, Joy though it was me and tried to kill me. Eventually we got it straightened out but she still keeps tabs on me from time to time. Like now,” He summed.

“Where do ghosts go when they, um, die?” I asked.

“We are not really sure. Personally, I think they just enter a void of nothingness between heaven and hell. Either way, it’s not a nice place to be,” Joy said.

I could just stare. This was all so new to me. Strangely enough, I hoped Tobias would never have to be killed.  Of course, I didn’t know if I could trust him of not, but I had begun to grow attached. Though, I don’t know why.

“While I love to talk about my strange race and their demise, I have got somewhere to be. Oh, and Evelyn, when you finish that ghost story, I expect a dedication to your favorite ghost, me,”

I rolled my eyes. Joy barely glanced up as he left, and continued to scroll through her phone, as she had for the past five minutes. Her eyes widened for a second before she stood up.

“Looks like I’ve got one,” She said, smirking to her phone, “have you ever seen a ghost hunter work before, Evelyn?”

“No,” I gulped. I hadn’t even heard of something like that besides in the movies.

“Well, then you’re coming with me,” She said, zipping up her jacket.

I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
