The balloon

My heart is like a balloon,

Going to high and feeling nothing can bring it down,

You are holding the string keeping me in place,

Making sure I'm not going too high,

But enough that I won't be taken by the wind,

But sometimes I long for your touch,

While my heart is in the clouds,

My head is on the ground,

Calculating if this will work,

Thinking everything through,

Thinking, oh too much,

It makes me second guess myself,

It makes me second guess this relationship,

But what is a relationship with out second guesses?,

It's like a mystery,

One that can only be cracked by the touch of our lips,

Will it spark?

Or is it just not meant to be,

As my brain sits here and wonders through these contradictions,

My balloon is getting larger,

Larger with excitement and happiness,

But, now it's slowly deflating,

Though still full enough to float,

Will you make it expand again like that first day?
