(Jeremy's POV)

"This is for me?" I asked Michael, staring down at the envelope.

"Yup," he answered. I started opening it. "No, no! You can't open it now. You have to wait."

"If you wanted me to wait, why'd you give it to me now?"

"Because I can't give it to you day-of. Just wait until the date written on the back, okay?"

"You're so weird," I told him with a laugh.

"I can say the same about you, Heere," he replied with a smirk.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be right back." I ran up to my room to put the letter on my desk. When I came back down, Michael was on the phone.

"What is it?"

Pause.

"You will what?"

Pause.

"Oh. Oh! That's great!"

Pause.

"Alright, I'll talk to you later. Thanks so much!"

"Who was that?" I asked him as I sat down on the couch.

"Rich," he replied, sitting next to me.

"Does he ever just text you? Or does he always call you?"

"I think he just likes talking," Michael said with a laugh.

"What were you talking about?" I asked curiously. "Was it about whatever's gonna happen next June?"

His eyes seemed to widen for a moment, but he quickly turned away. "Uh, no."

"That's a yes," I said with a laugh. "What is it??"

"I can't tell you!" He pulled his hood over his head to hide himself out of embarrassment. "You have to wait!"

"Alright, fine," I gave in with a small laugh. "But how do you expect me to wait an entire year?"

"You can manage, Jer."

"I can, but I don't want to."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot," he said. "You're an impatient little chicken nugget."

"We have discussed this, I am a chicken wing. Not a nugget."

"Whatever, nugget." I saw him smirk in my peripheral vision.

"I am going to stab something."

"Why not a cucumber?" He offered. "I hear they're better when you cut them up, not suck on them."

I glared at him. "That was one time!"
