 CHAPTER ONE

 

           SHE heard the chirping of the birds that woke her up to her safe haven, napangiti siya ng mapansin ang panahon sa labas ng kanyang bintana. It is morning and yet the disturbing rays of the sun isn’t visible to her eyes. Isang makulimlim na langit ang bumulaga sa kanya at malakas na buhos na ulan. The way she wanted it to be… she really love it when it rains. She loves that depressing weather for no reason, wala lang gusto lang talaga niya ang ganoon.

            “Good morning.” Bati niya sa katabi niya sa kanyang pagtulog. Nagmulat ito ng mga mata at kinamot iyon. Nagstretch pa nga ito and even gave her a cute yawn as she cuddle it. Yes, her constant bedmate, her cute shitzu dog whose name is Lizzy. “Lizzy.” Lizzy jumped from her bed and wiggled her tail as she waits for her to open her door. Excited na itong lumabas ng silid niya but before that she got her thin silky robe that she needs to cover her almost exposed body.

            She is wearing a long pink silky nightgown that covers her entire length but it doesn’t mean na maitatago nito ang hubog ng kanyang katawan. Masyadong mahaba ang v-line sa may dibdib niya kaya kung wala ang robe na suot na niya ngayon ay makikita ng mga tao ang pagitan ng kanyang dibdib. Her hair that is usually knitted into a neat bun is now messily tied in plates on the side of her neck.

            Lumabas na siya ng kanyang silid at dahan-dahang bumaba sa hagdanan na may iisang lugar lang na gustong puntahan. For the past eight years na nandito siya sa bahay na iyon ay iyon palagi ang destinasyon niya. Nang nasa ground na siya ay kinuha niya ang isang picture na nakapatong sa ibabaw niyon. A picture of a woman who shares the same features as  hers, a sad smile crept to her face as she stared at the picture.

            “Sayang, hindi man lang tayo nagkita ng personal. It would have been great kung nakilala natin ang isa’t isa.” She uttered silently and caress the woman’s face on the picture. “Good morning… Jen.” Aniya sa babae sa picture.

            “Baby?” maingat na inilapag niya ang picture sa ibabaw ng table kung saan talaga ito nakadisplay. “Good morning.” She smile at the only guy who could complete her day.

            “Good morning too Steve.” Bati niya dito na ikinakunot ng noo nito at sumimangot. She really love this side of her guy. Kahit ilang taon na ang lumipas hindi maikakatwa na parang hindi pa rin ito nagbago. Although his hairs are now turning white and his wrinkles are now showing on his forehead but still for her, he is the most handsome guy in the universe. The person who could make her feel special and very alive. Ang taong hindi siya iniwan at ang taong hindi siya sasaktan. Linapitan niya ito at mahigpit na niyakap… “Good morning daddy.”

            She felt a kiss on her forehead. “Good morning too sweetie.” Her dad always showered her with too much love and care na para bang ayaw siya nitong masaktan o kaya naman ay madapuan ni katiting na germs. Somehow she understands dahil ama niya ito. “Let’s have breakfast together?”
