Chapter 42

I woke up with a pounding headache making me groan while I tried my best to shake away my grogginess only once I did I smelt the staleness of the air before looking at the bed I was laying on only to see it was an old raggedy bed confusing me till I looked around the room and realized where I was

"No" I gasped shocked before I remembered what happened last making me panic

"Scarlett, Scarlett where are you" I shouted quickly getting out of bed before looking over to the cage on the opposite side of me only to see a small girl in the corner curled up in a ball

"Scarlett are you ok?.......... Scarlett...... Scarlett" I shouted but she didn't respond worrying me.

I grabbed the bars to the cell planning to melt them down with my powers only no matter how hard I tried they wouldn't heat up confusing me. When I realized that it wasn't working I took a step back and took a deep breathe before trying to blow fire only for a small puff of smoke to appear before I found myself couching with sharp pain in my stomach making fall to my knees

"W-wh-what the hell?" I groaned in pain

"It's not going to work" I heard before looking up over at Scarlett's cell

"They gave us dragons mist...... it stops us from using our abilities. We're trapped.... Not like it matters" she mumbled making me stare at her confused

"H-how would they even know that, you and Asher are the only dragons on earth there's no way that-" I started only to hear the opening of the door that led to the dungeon followed by the loud heavy steps of a man making my heart race nervously steeping back from the bars never more scared in my entire life till I saw who it was and relaxed a bit

"Simon" I said sighing in relief

"It's been a long time luna it's good to see you again" he bowed while I quickly rushed over to the bars

"Simon please let her go, i'm the one Jude wants she didn't do anything" I pleaded while he slowly turned to Scarlett only for him to look at her with disgust

"Trust me nobody wants to get rid of that trash more than I do luna, but Jude needs her for his plans" he announced while I stared at him in shock for a moment till I registered what he said

"P-plans what plans?"

"That dragon corrupted your mind and made you think that you had feelings for him, but its ok Jude still loves you very much and none of us are mad. You were only a human at the time, so we understand how defenseless you were"

"...... corrupted my- n-no, no Simon that's not-"

"Shhhh" he hushed me before smiling

"You don't need to argue luna its ok, your safe now"

".......Simon...... I'm not your luna anymore" I reminded him only for him to frown a bit

"I get that your still under that dragons control but please don't say that especially around alpha" he warned making a chill go up my spine wondering what he meant by that, but only I glanced back at Scarlett sitting there in her cell...... because of me

"Simon please just let her go. She's just a kid"

"She's scum" he declared taking me aback

"I know you don't understand it yet luna, but all dragons are scum, we've found the books and read the history, they thought they're the rulers of this world but all they did was tear it apart that's why we destroyed them. We still don't know how these two managed to survive but we promise after we're done with them you'll be safe"

"......... what do you mean when you're done with them?" I asked gripping the bars to the cell harder while Simon only smiled turning to Scarlett

"We're going to kill her along with Asher" he announced, and I slammed my fist against the bars pissed off smoke coming out of my mouth
