Okay, so here is Chapter 21! I just wrote this and did not edit it because I really wanted to post it for you guys. Please forgive type-os and grammer problems. I wrote this while having a coffee rush. Whoop! Whoop! If there is some problem you want to inform me of, feel free as always.

Now this story is coming to a close. There will be at least two more chapters.

There is an Authors note at the end that I would love you all to read. Please and thank you!

So without any more of my words, here is the story! Enjoy:

Chapter 21:

~Elissa~

Not that long ago, Professor Dumbledore was taken from the school, today panic from everyone greatly increased. What were we going to do without Dumbledore here to protect us? He was probably one of the few people that could protect the muggleborns from the Heir of Slytherin.

Fear grew that the muggleborns being petrified would increase had made everyone unease. The muggleborns in the school were pretty much escorted through the school by their friends as a way of protecting them.

Tension between all the other houses and Slytherin was at an all time high. They were the only house that was unaffected by the attacks, since they did not allow muggleborns in the house. Also, they did not even seem to care that their fellow students were being attacked by some mysterious monster.

Fred and George’s pranks on the Slytherins were higher than ever. I found it entertaining and took a point to pay attention to them at night in the Common Room when they would tell the play-by-play to anyone who cared to listen. I would sit back and pretend to do something else, like read while they told the story.

While they would smile and laugh with Jordan Lee and some of their other friends, I could tell they were not as happy as they once were. Since Echo they were sad, just like Esca. He had become more distance than ever, and seemed to just want to be left alone. I was okay with that though, I never really liked him much anyway. Echo and he had the strangest relationship. She wanted approval from him despite the obvious fact that he was a total dumb butt. She would probably never admit it, but I knew she liked him.

Still one Saturday, not long after Dumbledore was taken from the school, I saw him happy as ever, as if it was Christmas. He was on the grounds, which was one of the few places we were allowed now, as long as there was a professor nearby. Esca was sitting in a tree with a wide smile plastered on his face. He looked deep in thought as his eyes studied a pair not sitting far from the tree: Harry and Ron.

I crossed my arms across my chest and marched up to him. Whether it was out of boredom or just pure curiosity or both, I was not sure.

“What are you doing?” I yelled up at him.

He did not even flitch or look my way, he just placed a finger to his lips.

From up close, I could see how his eyes looked weird. They were wide and calm with an empty expression, as if he were in some kind of trance.

“I will not be quiet,” I huffed, placing my hands on my hips.

Again, he did respond, just kept the finger on his lips as if that meant something important. He wanted me to be quiet; well he would have to deal. He was acting weird, weirder than normal, and I wanted to know what it was about. Kyle had told me that Esca had been keeping his distance from even him.

I sighed. “Listen Esca, you have been acting really off and I can’t help but think that it may be because of Echo. It has been months since she was petrified, you have to let it go. She will wake up soon enough. She wouldn’t want you to be sad; she would want you to keep having fun.”
