Chapter 5

Blake's P.O.V- (5 days later)

I woke up groggy this morning. My entire body felt sore and I was momentarily in a daze. Then, I remembered last nights events. Adam and I decided to go over to Chris's house for a party. Well, things got a little crazy. Adam got drunk, so I had to walk home at, like, 4 o'clock in the morning. There was no way I was going to let him drive me home. Actually, he was smart and said he wouldn't be driving that night at all.

I glanced at my clock. It was 1:00 pm. I stretched my arms and groaned. Then, something dawned on me. Lisa would be coming over soon. She just got back from her vacation to Florida yesterday.

I literally rolled out of bed and almost fell on the floor. I stumbled to my closet and grabbed my black skinny jeans and a black t-shirt that had the Volcom symbol on it. I took a relatively quick shower and came out refreshed and awake.

I threw on my clothes and took my cologne out of the bathroom cabinet. I sprayed a decent amount of it on and then turned towards the bathroom mirror.

I grabbed my black eye liner (or guy liner like some of you like to call it) and put a thick line of it on my eyes. After playing with my hair for ten minutes, I finally decided that I was bored out of my mind.

I swung my bedroom door open and stepped out into the hallway, "Adam?" I called. No answer. He must still be at Chris's house, I thought to myself. Just to make sure I walked down the hallway and opened his bedroom door. Clothes were lying everywhere and posters of our favorite bands covered his walls (like they did in my room), but Adam wasn't there. His bed was unmade and messy and there were soda cans lying all over the floor by his bed.

I smiled to myself as I closed the door and walked downstairs. Adam is such a slob. I walked past our living room and into our giant kitchen. It was all quiet. My mom or Jimmy weren't home, so I had the house to myself.

Normally, I would have liked this, but I wanted Adam here. I really needed someone to reassure me considering I might be breaking up with Lisa today. After texting Grace almost everyday since we've met, I officially knew that I liked her more than a friend.

I feel like I can tell her anything, even though I've only known her for six days. Well, in those six days, I've opened up to her more than anyone, besides Adam, that is. We talked about all kinds of things: music, school, relationships... I even told her about my parents divorce and out complicated relationships with each other.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. I walked over to the door and stopped in front of it. I took a deep breath and opened it.

There stood Lisa looking as gorgeous as ever, but that will never change. Whether we're together or not I can't say she isn't good looking. Her blue eyes sparkled when they saw me and her blonde hair was curled to perfection. She wore short light blue denim shorts and a dark green racerback with a flower design going up the side. She smiled sweetly at me. Why couldn't I help but feel it was so...fake?

I felt myself forcing a smile on my face as I reached over to hug her. I kissed her tenderly on the lips, like I always do, but ended it quickly. It just felt so...awkward. She smirked at me and walked inside.
