bad seed

from far away,
down under
plants wither,
dead & scattered.
the bad seed, it grew
peaked at the world above.
ambitious it became,
no one left to love.

envied the sun
for its warmth & shine,
wished it was the moon
that gives light at night.
pushed itself up,
dirt around its coat.
unluckily it rained
the bad seed felt cold.

still it pushed itself
high above the ground.
without thinking
what's waiting out there
too late to back out
leaves did not appear,
rained poured & it drowned.
sun came out & it burned.
moon brightly glowed
& the bad seed knew
why it shouldn't have
went for something
it will never have.

soon enough,
it felt its roots harshly pulled,
life coming out of
the bad seed,
the only thing
that it took for granted
as it asked for more.
as it was not contented.
