parallel lines

we're on the same planet,
we're from the same kind.
we walk the same road,
we cross paths time to time.
we run the same miles,
we sail the same seas.
we jump the same heights.
we cross the same bridge.

but why do our hearts
play different beats?
why do our lips
speak different speech?

we're parallel lines,
which ends do not meet.
