Third person pov

Kakashi was beginning to grow worried. He hadn't seen Naruko in days and although there wasn't a need to meet up as there were no missions, he couldn't help but have a bad feeling about this. He had went to Ichiraku's but they too had said they didn't see the energetic blonde in a while either. At least not since the funeral. Sasuke's death had hit everyone hard. But he knew that Naruko was the one who was the most affected. He arrived in front of Naruko's door and knocked on it a few times. He was met with absolute silence as the bad feeling continued to grow. If there was one thing Kakashi learnt in the past it was to not ignore instinct. He shunshined (transport-body flicker) into Naruko's room to find it completely empty. An overwhelming stench hit him as he looked around the room. Empty ramen cups and spoilt milk cartons lay scattered around the room, along with clothing that was strung up over every item in her room. Typical Naruko. He looked at the photo of team 7 on her desk as he couldn't help but let out a pained smile. He missed her and he missed Sasuke. It was his fault. He failed as a teacher. He then narrowed his eyes and realised something, forgetting about the damaging thoughts. The bed was made and looked untouched. He checked the milk cartons to see that they had expired two days ago. Even Naruko would throw that away. His eyes widened as he immediately left to go to the Hokage's office. Naruko hadn't been back in her room for a few days.

Kakashi knocked on the Hokage's door and a rough "come in" was heard from inside. He quickly opened the door and shut it softly behind him. The Hokage sat at his desk with a grave expression on his face which did nothing to ease Kakashi's worry.

"I know why you're here." The Hokage said after a few moments of silence. He sounded extremely tired and guilty even which made Kakashi wonder what happened.

"I'm here to report Naruko as missing." Kakashi said, trying to mask any emotion on his face.

"Kakashi you know you don't have to put up that front of with me." The Hokage said as Kakashi sighed. When he dropped his mask it was clear as day how distressed he was. The third felt the guilt weigh in but he knew that he didn't have a choice at the time. "Naruko isn't missing." The Hokage said as Kakashi's eye's widened as he let out a breath of relief.

"That's great. Then where is she?" Kakashi questioned as he felt the stress leave his body. He really couldn't afford to lose another student right now. He wouldn't be able to take it. The Hokage looked straight at Kakashi who was shocked to see such a pained expression on the Hokage's face.

"She's like my granddaughter. I would never do anything that would be bad for her. You know that right Kakashi?" The Hokage said as he nodded his head warily. He didn't like the tone of voice the Hokage was using, it made the bad feeling come back twice fold. "I sent her away." The Hokage said finally as Kakashi's eyes widened in shock.

"Where?" Kakashi asked, trying to maintain his calm.

"Somewhere very far." The Hokage said, his voice filled with anguish. Kakashi didn't know what to say. Naruko was gone?

"Why?" Kakashi managed to choke out. Naruko needed to be with her team more then ever right now. After such a heart wrenching experience only her team could help her. Understand her.

"The kyuubi was about to be unleashed." The Hokage said, remembering the jutsu that sent her away. Kakashi shook his head, refusing to believe it. He was acting completely out of character but he couldn't manage losing someone else. Especially not someone like Naruko who reminded him so much of that person.

"Where?" Kakashi questioned again, forgetting about the lack of respect he had in his voice. The Hokage wasn't bothered by it at all as he understood why Kakashi would be feeling this way.

"Another dimension." That was all it took for Kakashi to crumble. The mask he was able to keep on for such a long time disappeared.

"Get her back." Kakashi demanded as the Hokage just shook his head. "Please." Kakashi begged as the Hokage sighed.

"I care for her as much as you do Kakashi. But I can't do that. At least not right now." The Hokage said, sounding extremely apologetic.

"Why?" Kakashi questioned simply, not being able to fully comprehend the situation.

"There isn't a way. But I'll figure it out. I promise to you as the Hokage."
