As I continue to check Twitter I see that Matthew Espinosa, and Carter Reynolds replied to the tweet. “@Mr_Carterr: @ShawnnMendes @EmilyyLovee98 reunited at last, he can stop texting us about you now (;” I look over at Shawn and say, “Don’t try playing it cool, I have had at least two people verify that you were talking and texting about me.” I punch his arm, and he acts like it caused him so much pain. I laugh. I check Matt’s tweet, “@TheMattEspinosa: @ShawnnMendes @EmilyyLovee98 ay the two lovebirds are reunited. oooh use protection. *smirk emoji*” I look at Shawn and punch him even harder this time. I say to Shawn, “Tell Matt to delete that tweet!!!” Shawn says, “What tweet?” And I show him. He blushes and gets out his phone, “You type it Emily.” My mom looks back and gives us this confused look, “Kids nowadays.” She laughs. I take his phone out of his hand and start typing, “What am I supposed to say to him?” He shrugs, “I don’t know, that’s why I gave you the phone.” I look back at the phone, I type, “MATT DELETE THAT TWEET RIGHT NOW BUDDY (btw this is Emily)” I hand the phone back to Shawn and he reads what I said. He giggles and grabs my hand. I gesture towards my mom, and he whispers in my ear, “So?” I glare at him. I pull out my phone and start typing a text to Shawn, “how about we don’t do this in front of family? you know how much crap they would give us right, lol” He types back, “well I mean they have always wanted this so why not just give it to them” I look at the text for a few seconds, then back at him. I understood what he was trying to say. I just didn’t want it to become awkward between our two families, and I definitely didn’t want them to talk about us.
We finally got to Homehouse ((not a real place just saying I completely made it up)). This was both of our families’ favorite place to go when we are together. I get out of the car and Shawn looks at me smiles, and says, “Remember last time you were here and you fell in the street?” I get embarrassed and say, “Yeah, that hurt really bad actually.” He chuckles and walks over to me and grabs my hand. I pull away and glare at him. He does a little puppy dog face and I roll my eyes and grab his hand. I see the big wooden bear out in front of the entrance and I drag Shawn over to it. He teasingly rolls his eyes and pulls out his phone and takes a picture of me freaking out over the bear. I hear the shutter of the phone and tackle him until he shows me the picture, I had the biggest smile on my face, and my eyes were crinkled. I took his phone, and sent it to myself. We walk inside the restaurant holding hands, and I was scared that everyone was going to see. When we sit down in the waiting area, a girl about our age comes over and asks Shawn for a picture. He obviously says yes. It was obvious that she saw we were holding hands. She looked at both of us and when I was taking the picture she said, “You’re Emily right?” I nod and smile. She smiles and says, “You two are dating right?”
Me and Shawn looked at each other, not quite sure what to say. I start to say, “No, we are just reall-” but Shawn cuts me off and says, “Yea we are.” The girl smiles and says, “You two are the cutest couple ever.” Then she walks away. I look at Shawn and start freaking out on him, “WHY DID YOU SAY THAT DUDE?? IM GOING TO GET SO MUCH HATE NOW AND IM NOT PREPARED FOR IT!” I start having a panic attack and tears start to fill my eyes. He brings me outside to a hidden area and sits me down. He starts to rub my back, “I won’t let them hate on you sweetie. You mean too much to me. Even if they do hate, none of it is true and you’ll have to believe me on this.” I start to calm down. My hands are still shaking. He grabs both of them and says, “I love you. I won’t let anything bad happen to you. I promise.” He kisses my cheek, and helps me stand up. When we are standing he looks around, making sure no one is watching, and lays his lips on top of mine.
