A/N: Not Thailand yet, but a little fun side story on the plane. And believe me, you’ll see at least a couple of the characters again later on in the story. (:

I would never actually do this on a plane, but thought it would be kinda funny to picture. Maybe it’s simply because I’ll be spending over 20 hours of my life on a plane in two weeks, and I was imagining what would happen. (Believe me, making out with strangers will not be what would happen. My parents would kill me. :D)

And maybe what Destiny does in this chapter makes you not like her… but try to understand where she’s coming from?

So, enjoy this chapter. I had fun writing it – the second half, that is. (:

“Are you sure you have everything need to bring with you?” Mom asked frantically.

I was extremely exasperated, and I had reason to be so considering Mom, Dad, and I had been having this conversation for the past ten minutes.

“Yes mom. I do.”

And I better have everything, because it took me forever to pack all of my belongings for the summer into that eensy-weensy suitcase. The suitcase was packed full, mainly of clothes. I went down the mental checklist of what I needed again, just to be sure.

Three of my favorite bikinis. Check.

Four pairs of jean short-shorts. Check

Tops for day and clubbing. Check.

Mini-skirts. Check.

Tank tops. Check.

Two sexy dresses for parties. Check.

Maxi dresses for everyday use. Check.

Long skirts. Check.

Three pairs of sandals. Check.

Flip flops. Check.

Camera. Check.

I had everything that would be necessary for a summer vacation. Except for two of my most important essentials, my phone and laptop. I was so devastated when I heard that I wouldn’t actually be able to bring my phone or my laptop because apparently, there would be no signal for my phone and I wasn’t allowed to have a laptop.

If I wanted to communicate with people outside, then I better be prepared to pay the outrageous long distance call fees, they said.

That was the one thing my parents weren’t happy with. Despite the fact that they were the ones who came up with the idea of shipping me off for a summer, they still wanted to have communication with me. Which meant that they made a huge ruckus about not being able to talk to me all summer. Me, on the other hand? I was perfectly happy with the situation. Not talking to them for a couple months would be fine, it wasn’t like I had anything to say to them on a daily basis anyways.

We were at the airport terminal, and there was half an hour before I was boarding my plane. I had planned on being at the boarding gate already, because Kaylea and I had agreed on meeting there. But instead, I was still standing outside of the security check lines, waiting somewhat impatiently for my mom to stop freaking out about me.

I guess Dad finally sensed my distress because he laid a hand on my mom’s shoulder before saying lightly, “Meg, calm down. I’m sure Destiny is more than prepared. There’s no use in freaking out anymore. It’s only a summer.”

Mom had started to calm down, but when my dad mentioned the time I would be gone, her eyes widened and seemed to well up with tears.

Oh no. I was not going to deal with an emotional mom right before take-off. Here goes nothing on my attempt to comfort her. “Mom! I’m going to be fine! I’ll be back before you know it!”
