Hello, my dearest readers! For the longest time, I wanted to include illustrations in Winged, but I am absolutely dreadful when it comes to art. However, I noticed that quite a few of my readers were also pretty talented artists, and if there's one thing I know about the internet is that people love making fanart of their favourite things. So I decided to just delegate it to you instead!
But seriously, though, basically, what I had in my mind is that, anyone who likes drawing and wants to make something for the book, would be able to send me their art and I would include it in this special chapter at the end. So you'd be able to contribute to the book! This is not only great to the book itself, but you'd be able to show off your art to other readers, and maybe create a little community, like a small, Winged-centred Deviant Art.
What kind of drawings will you be able to submit? Anything you want! Remember, this isn't a case of me commissioning a cover or illustrations and telling you what to make, your drawing will be 100% up to you. You could make portraits of your favourite characters, or draw your favourite scenes, and while those are certainly preferred, you could theoretically make stuff that isn't strictly by-the-book (literally)!
Want to draw the gang hanging out at the beach? It doesn't happen in the book, but you can! Want to make your ship come true? It's probably not gonna happen in the books, but you can do it! Want to make the Winged characters crossover with Harry Potter? Why not? It's all up to you. There are a few rules, though they probably should go without saying:
Rule n°1: NO RULES!
Rule n°2: Even if your drawing is not explictly a scene from the book, it has to be Winged related, for obvious reasons. You may be able to draw a lovely giraffe, but your giraffe will not be accepted. (Giraffes cosplaying as the characters though, is fair game).
Rule n°3: The book is meant for all ages, so let's keep the art family friendly as well, okay guys? (This goes double for you, shippers).
Remember this isn't a competition either, it's just for fun.
