Sorry about the long wait for the update! I started babysitting in the afternoon, so when I get home I go right to babysitting and after that's done I don't feel like writing. Sorry guys! I'll try to update sooner!

A week later…

I had gotten absolutely no breaks from practicing the change. Whenever Mason told me it was time to change, he wouldn't leave me alone until I changed. I wasn't changing everyday because Mason said it would tear me apart. It was yet another thing that I had to wait for, or develop the ability to do.

Being a werewolf gave me an infinite amount of goals to strive for.

I was staying awake through the change, but somewhere in all that pain, I'd lose my concentration and give in to the wolf.

It was a regular thing to wake up in a silver lined cage.

I hated this place. It was so boring. I needed to go shopping and get some things for my room. I needed some decor. The only personal belongings I had was my purse and the junk inside of it. When they kidnapped me they figured I might need my ID at some point.

Mason hadn't been careful to shield his pass code from me when we left the compound for training. Not that it mattered so much. I always had Chris' pass code.

He even took me through the 'back' entrance. He must really think that I wouldn't be able to figure anything out.

If he was smart, he wouldn't have let me know that there was another entrance. He should have taken me out the way Chris brought me in. He complained that it took too long to get in and out of. The back way only took three codes to get out.

So I made my way out of the compound. I felt so clever.

He really should have been more careful. I'm not some idiot that's not going to have a backup plan just in case the shit hit the fan.

I entered his codes and made it all the way outside. I knew they kept the car keys in the visor. I turned on the truck and waited a moment. If someone was supposed to stop me, I'd give them the opportunity.

No one came. So I left. It took me 40 minutes to find civilization. I took a couple of wrong turns and had to ask a couple for directions.

I had a feeling that I was going to get in a lot of trouble for being out of the compound without permission, but I'm an adult. I don't need to ask permission to leave.

Technically I did steal the car though. I pushed the thought back. I'd deal with trouble later, if I got in any.

I found a Walmart. They tended to be everywhere.

It was nice to be away from the werewolves and on my own. Fresh air without someone breathing down my neck felt amazing.

It was weird walking around the humans when I knew this huge secret and they thought everything was normal. There were werewolves living in their town.

It would be interesting to see what their reaction would be if they ever found out what their real neighbors are.

I grabbed some new colorful bedding, a foam pad (because that mattress sucks), and some random odds and ends so that my room had some personality.

I grabbed some fast food on my way back. The smell coming from the bag made my mouth water. I used to eat out almost every day. But since I've been here I hadn't eaten anything unhealthy. The soda tasted amazing.

I finished all the food before I got back to the compound. I punched in Mason's code and waited for the door to click. The only response I got was the code pad beeping at me.
