Chapter 14

After I dropped off Jade in our room, I leave to go meet up with Blade for the pack meeting. The meeting is going to be on the first floor in one of the studies. On my way there I stop at the door on the second floor, I stare at the door for a while. Finally, I decided to open it. I walk into my old room, a wave of sadness hits me when I look around. Nothing changed. All the memories come flooding back, all those times I would lay in bed bruised and bloody.

A hand grabs my shoulder," Jake..."

Instinctively I grab the person and slam them on the wall my arm pressed against their throat, "Brandon?"

"Ja-", Brandon's strains, his face red from lack of oxygen

I let go of him, "What the fuck Brandon! you don't just sneak up on someone like that!"

Brandon coughs violently, "You don't just attack someone for no reason"

I run my fingers through my hair, "What can I say I learned from the best"

"what?"

I glare at him, "You can't say you never taught me anything right"

Brandon steps forward, "Jake I am so-"

I shove past him, "Save it for someone that cares Brandon"

I walk into the meeting, I see Blade talking to a few other high ranked wolves. He looks over at me 'Who pissed you off this time?'

I roll my eyes 'Don't worry about it'

Brandon's POV

I fucked up. I fucked up so bad. Not only am I a failure as a son but also as a brother. I knew it was wrong but that didn't stop me from treating my own blood like trash and now he won't even spare me a minute. Fuck, I wouldn't spare me a minute either.

'Brandon get your ass down here now!' Josh's voice rings in my head

I roll my eyes 'On my way'

You know that saying "You never know what you have until you lose it", well it's true. It wasn't until Brandon left that I realized the damage I had done to him. I walk into the meeting room and sit next to Josh.

"Look who decided to show up", Josh grunts

I glare at him.

Josh and I have been best friends since I can remember but things changed after Jake left. I couldn't help but resent him a little. He was the one who started picking on my little brother and like an idiot, I followed his lead. If only he could lead our pack to safety but he had to call for back up. Talk about karma, he's being saved by the guy he tormented for so long.

"They aren't ready", Jake says annoyed

I hadn't realized I zoned out but quickly pick up what they're talking about. Attacks have been happening to neighboring packs and it seems that we can be next.

"We need to find out what they're planning", Josh snarls

"So you're just going to send your men out to get killed", Jake asserts
