Frappe Shot 17:

April 21, 2009. With lots of confusion, I wanna drop things like a hot potato. I’ve been drinking like a fish since the night after the band’s radio guesting in Pinoy Rock FM. I’m torn. I don’t know how to burn the bridges behind me, it’s a tough row to hoe.

Annie told me that I already look like Elmo of The Sesame Street, I’m freaking red. Mommy cooked mushroom soup for me this morning, it’s for my hangover. But everyone in the house doesn’t know the real reson behind my drinking. Kuya Aljay, my eldest brother, thought it’s because I condole with Kyle’s depression.

After taking a bath and clearing out dilemmas, I turned my laptop on and got connected online. I checked on my Facebook account and saw on top of my notifications was a reply on my post of the quote, “Your temporary absence from my immediate vicinity seems to affect a slight depression of sorts within the realm’s day to day existence.” It’s a quote someone sent me through text, which I believed, fully encapsulated my feelings.

“Buds, where’s your wall? Ayusin mo account mo!” It was a reply from Carmi wondering what’s wrong with my account. I’m honestly not aware of what I have done to my Facebook account the last time I checked it.

I accidentally clicked on Carmi’s profile and saw an update on her wall. “Carmi Yeoh and Mi-Young Lee are now friends.” It knocked my languidness. I wonder who added whom and why.

Did Mi-Young add Carmi thinking that Carmi and I were really that close? Or Carmi’s the one who added Mi-Young because she’s intrigued and she wants to know who is Mi-Young in my life?

But before my mind glides in the galaxy of thoughts, a notification suddenly pops out.

“Elise Roxette Villaflor added you as a friend.” It was Cadi. This could be a straw in the wind but what could be harmful in accepting a mere online request, right?

I accepted Cadi’s request and saw that she’s online in Facebook chat.

“Buds, pm sent!” Cadi’s immediate message.

I checked on my Facebook inbox to see what the message was.

The message’s subject was “Badi...” A different spelling of my nickname that was really close to hers.

“Please come and watch 3FourFine in our first gig at Cuerdas, Pasig this April 24 at 9 PM. See you there!” After sending this particular message, Cadi logged out.

The rough summer air blows into my senses, I feel emply, though.

“Pony!

“Hoy! Mas maganda ako dun!” I pouted my lips and flipped my hair back at umupo sa tapat ng salamin ng dresser n’ya nang pabarumbado habang walang T-shirt, macho eh.
