It's been three weeks since the confrontation in my room and I didn't want to admit it but; I was starting to miss Chase. Being true to his word he really did leave me alone. No longer did he walk me to class or, stopped me in the hallways. Gone was the flirting and the jokes. If we happened to be in each other's company because of Mellie or Matt he simply nodded at me or said a polite hi and that was it. He didn't try to make conversation or anything he acted like I didn't exist.

At first, it didn't bother me but passing him by every day when I did see him like we were strangers hurt a bit. I no longer even saw him at Mrs.Kabel's anymore. This is not what I wanted

Then what do you want  I thought

I sighed and leaned back against my pillow it's like I wanted to give Chase a chance but I was scared of being played and I didn't want to be hurt. I'd seen girls get played by guys like that before and I wasn't going to allow any opportunities for that. But Chase seemed so sincere if he really wanted to just do that then he wouldn't waste time with a stubborn person like me right?

I just didn't know anymore. I got up and grabbed my keys it looked like it was time to come clean with Mellie.

"I knew it" Mellie screamed as she threw pillows my way I just finished telling her everything that had happened between me and Chase.

"Ok ok," I said trying to block them "I was wrong I should've said something earlier."

"Only because you're taking me out to dinner I'm going to let this slide" she declared "but it all makes sense now."

"What do you mean?" I said curiously

"Well Chase hasn't really been himself lately he's more quiet and withdrawn, don't get me wrong he still talks and jokes and stuff but it's like he's lost in his thoughts" she admitted, "he's not even flirting with girls anymore and that boy is a big flirt."

I felt a pang of guilt

"You think it's because of me,?" I said after a while

"Duh dummy, who else" Mellie snorted "the guy admitted he liked you and you shut him down, of course, it's you."

I glared at her

She raised her hands "hey I'm just saying."

I sighed "Mellie what do I do now I'm confused?"

Mellie reached over and took my hands "if I were you I would be honest with my feelings and, if Chase is what you want then I would go and talk to him as soon as possible before it's too late."

I plopped back on the bed "why do I have to go to him?" I whined

She rolled her eyes "because your ass is the one that messed it up, besides he already went to you so put your pride to the side."

She was right

There was a banging on the door.
