"Ashe, what are you doing?" Grey calmly spoke from behind Ashe, succeeding in scaring her several feet into the air.

"N-nothing!" the hybrid freak quickly declared as she badly tried to hide her papers from her cousin. Grey wasn't buying it and moved over a few inches to get a rather decent view on what she was working on. In Ashe's quickly scrawn chicken scratch, he could just barely make out some words;

Momma doesn't cry, but there was something about the way she looked at me when I left...

"Are you writing your memoirs?" Grey inquired in a tone that was trying to be humorous.

"Y-yeah." Ashe quickly agreed. "Let's go with that."

Grey gave a passing shrug and was about to leave, but Ashe stopped him.

"Grey..." she softly said, "How can you tell someone's.... personality? Ideas? What's the word?"

"Intentions?"

"I guess..."

Grey passively observed Ashe's confusion and discomfort over the matter and sat next to her. "It's not my calling to judge people Ashe, you know that." he then said to her, rather sternly. "And I have to say that she terrified me too much to want to learn more about her -study her, in your case- so I really can't say much... To me, I think there's only one person who could really answer your question."

"And who's that?"

"Your father."

For a moment, Ashe gave Grey a rather appalled look before realizing the truth behind it. Ashe had gone silent for just long enough that Grey realized this was the most quiet she's been in ages, before she finally spoke up;

"Do you think Momma misses me?"

"All the time Ashe, all the time."
