I've spent far more time googling "Bad author behavior" than I care to admit. But it's so juicy. The drama! The name calling! Oh my!

There's been a flurry of recent activety. Authors flipping out a reviewers, at other authors, at their publishers. It's all so interesting to read about. But it doesn't apply to us, right?

I mean, we're not published, we're just writing on wattpad. Probably not many people will see it if we snap back at that person who called our story "trash", we can just knock him down a few pegs. He deserves it. Besides, it's not like we're famous. We can say whatever we want on facebook, on twitter, on tumblr, on wattpad.  Right?

Hmmm....

There's only one problem with that, it's something I tell myself every time I tweet, or wattpad, or facebook.

The internet is forever.

You never know if someday, years from now, you'll publish a book, maybe you'll even become famous! So do you really want emberassing status updates/tweets/wattpad posts floating around out there, just waiting to pop up?

What do you think about online behavior? Have you ever snapped back at a rude wattpad comment? Do you think authors should be able to reply to reviews?

Don't forget, the Word Nerds chat live every sunday night, 7:00 (eastern standard time). We'll be talking about internet behavior, and all the scandal that erupts on a regular basis. Oooh, the delicious drama!

If you have a comment or question you'd like us to talk about tomorrow night during our live chat, post it below and start with "Dear Word Nerds..."
