In ROTN, Sasuke was leaving for a long mission. Sakura approached him and joked that she'd never seen him this serious. She also said he shouldn't play with girls too much. Sasuke, ignoring the hurt that came with words, smiled at her. Sakura blushed but ignored her feelings, then playfully asked, "What? No rose this time?"

Sasuke laughed, and to her surprise, kissed her cheek.

"Maybe next time."

In the real ninja world, Sasuke poked Sakura's forehead and said:

"Maybe next time."
