Jen was home on time the following Wednesday night and she didn’t want to go to the football again on the Saturday. Warren checked her phone and found a message from Jen to the Coach saying that she wasn’t able to continue with their relationship. The Coach had asked her why, pathetically, whiningly. All she responded was ‘It’s over.’ The anti-love potion had worked, Jen was all Warren’s.

By the week the tour was meant to commence Jen couldn’t get out of bed. She’d lost her love for life. Even her children couldn’t rouse her. ‘Come on mum,’ Gracie said. ‘I want you to take me to school today.’ She’d lost her appetite, she had no desire for food, and she’d lost over 10kg.

‘Stop taking those pills,’ Warren said to her.

‘I’ve stopped already. I ran out of them last week,’ Jen said, lethargically, hardly able to open her dry mouth.

‘Then why aren’t you better already?’ She rolled over and went back to sleep.
