Chapter 5 : Not Enough

Shunsuke Asakura, Chief Editor of Star Sport Magazine, read through the document in his hand. It was three pages long and it was filled with the writer's admiration and hope for his subject. It was indeed an interesting piece of work but it was not enough for a front page sensation. Probably it could be placed at the general column of the sport magazine.

"Your title is attractive enough but your story won't sell that much unless you change the subject to someone better known, Itsumiya-kun," the chief editor told the young journalist who had been standing silently by the table for the older man to finish reading.

"What?" Kyohei couldn't believe what he had just heard. "Asakura-san, I've told you that the boy's going to be a new sensation in the history of soccer," he didn't want to admit defeat.

"I know. I read as much in your report, but for a boy who only appears once in a prefecture game from a school that got kick out in the first round... you're an outstanding reporter, Itsumiya-kun. Find something more gullible than a make believe story," the chief editor said as he returned back the document.

"I'll try, sir," Kyohei said as he took the document. Then he excused himself out of the room. His face was impassive as he walked towards his cubicle but deep in his heart fire of anger burst. He had spent almost three months researching on Ryuji Masayoshi and he was sure the story would sell as well as his other works. He just needs to find another way to make the chief editor acknowledge his place.
