how can you be so broken
over the loss of someone
who was never even yours
who you thought had you
who never actually loved you
maybe
it was because
you thought
you were his
maybe
you thought
he was some kind
of a dream come true
maybe
you thought
he was different
maybe
you believed
that he could
or maybe
you hoped
for something
far greater
and far better
than how you two ended
though that's not
what happened
isn't it
cause he was
not the man
in your story
but he became the man
of your poems
the ones
that were all about
heartbreaks
should have beens
and what ifs
the ones
that were all about him
and never
about me
never about the one who
chose to be numb and selfless
never about the one
who stayed by your side
never about the one
who only had his eyes for you
never about the one
who listened to you
cry about his lies
and ignored the unspoken truth
so i'm taking this chance
to let you know
that you had my heart before
but i'm finally giving up
cause i know i'll never survive
another fall if i stay a second more
you had me
from the very beginning
but you never
knew the truth
all this time
if only you could see
it was never
your forever
with him that ended
it was our forever
that never got
its chance to live

a.n.: and there we have it my lovely readers. when forever died is finished!!!! i can't believe it myself. it was a heartbreaking journey, if i may add. well...... the heartbreak is not yet done because a third poem book is on its way!!

P.S. i take my inspiration from my unexpected impromptu thoughts and NEVER from real life situations. so please forgive me if i cannot fully describe the feeling of being in love or the idea of being heartbroken. cause i see it everyday but i've never been "in love" in any way.
