New Cashier

    Tom went to the store to buy some milk. He went to his favorite store and would always smile at the cashier as she smiled back at him.

    The next day, Tom went to the same store and realized another cashier. Behind the counter, the cashier Tom saw yesterday and every other day before, always was at the right. This new cashier was at the left. Tom thought the first cashier probably got sick and had to stay home so they hired another cashier for the day. Tom didn't think twice about it and carried on.

    The next day, Tom went to his favorite store, and saw the same first cashier that he saw the day before, and the cashier he saw yesterday. The first cashier was at the front at the right, and the second one was at the left.

"You got better?", Tom asked. "Yeah", the cashier smiled.

"Well that explains how you were gone yesterday. Why else would there be another cashier", Tom said.

"Who? The store was closed yesterday", the cashier said.
