Gone For Too Long

It's been too long

Now that I've been gone

So far away, to get paid in my palm

It's my way, it's my charm

Miss the place I belong

In the city we were free

Although poverty

Ate away at my life

I was with good company

Now the rain and the pain

Keep on falling from above

So I pray on this day

For your strength and your love

I know I’ll move on

No need to fuss

But no matter what you think

I still crumble to dust

So you sit and you stay

With your pain on display

And all that I want

Is to take it away

So tomorrow if your sorrow

Is still there and you're hollow

You can always call on me

I'll be there through it all

I have waited forever

So hard it seems

That I almost forgot

All that was of my dreams

When I wake there is no

Time I can waste

Been erased with no trace

Because fate has its place

It is laid in the sky

So I continue to struggle

With you in my mind

I’ve been dreaming of home

Of the city where I lived

Since I was a kid

Now I’m a man

You wouldn't understand

Just leave me alone

I'll be dreaming of home

Leave me and go

Away to your home

Life continues, I stumble

We push and we struggle

Put away my rage, remain to be humble

No matter how high you raise

We’re all chained to the pain

So don't fear the fire

Live in a blaze

You can find piece of mind

If you search for a sign

So I wait for the day

To say you are mine
