Chapter 5

I woke up slowly...too comfortable to really move. The sun was filtering in through the windows, reflecting on my closed eyelids, warm and inviting but I still couldn't bring myself to get out of bed.

Wait, sun? The sun doesn't hit my bed like this...

Shock had me opening my eyes quickly, wondering where in the hell I fell asleep at. My eyes took in the sight of my living room and I couldn't have been more relieved.

It wouldn't have been the first time I woke up somewhere I didn't know...like the time Micah and I drank so much we passed out and woke up in a stolen taxi...and no we didn't steal the taxi, only fell asleep in it. That doesn't mean we didn't run like hell just in case! No way was I getting arrested again...

"Finally awake I see." A deep voice rumbled from behind me. My whole body jumped at the sound and before I could blink I found myself on the floor, my face pressed into the hardwood. Graceful...

"Sun, are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you like that." The voice I recognized now as Jack's said from above me.

Too embarrassed to answer properly, I simply nodded. Great, I got to spend the night cuddling on the couch with a sexy nerd and didn't even get to enjoy it! Talk about luck, huh...

"Do you need some help?" Jack asked once he realized I wasn't moving from my spot on the floor.

Groaning, I rolled onto my back and found myself staring into Jack's stunning blue eyes. His glasses had come off through the night, leaving me a clear view of his face for the first time...and let me tell you, damn this man is seriously drool worthy!

I wasn't sure if it was because I wasn't fully awake or if I was still a little buzzed from last night but all I wanted to do was lay on my hard floor the rest of the day, staring at my roommate. Of course he'd probably think I am crazy if I did...hell, he probably already thinks I'm crazy.

"Are you sure you're alright? You are staring at me..." Jack peered down at me, forehead wrinkled in worry.

"I'm fine...just looking at you." I said without thinking.

"Looking at me, why? You don't have to tell me my hair is sticking up cause I already know that." He ran one of his large hands through the dark locks.

"Don't do that!" I smacked his hand away from his hair before allowing my own hands to run through it, messing it up all over again. "It's sexy all messed up like that."

"Sexy? Me, ha! Nice one Sun." Jack laughed as he leaned back on the couch, taking his handsome face out of my view. I decided to ignore his comment and finally pull myself off the floor.

"What time is it?" I asked. I crawled back up onto the couch, snuggling back up against Jack's surprisingly hard body.

Jack looked at his dorky calculator watch, replying with, "Ten."

"Good, I've got a few hours before I have to open the shop." I sighed in contentment. There's nothing like being able to snuggle up to a man...granted, I was the only one snuggling, Jack was still frozen, with his arms askew. I couldn't help but chuckle at his uncomfortable position. "Jack. Relax, I don't bite...well unless you want me too." I tilted my head up to face his, only inches away from my own. I couldn't help but get lost in his clear blue eyes for a few moments.

When his arms still refused to relax around me I sighed before sitting up on the couch, making sure to push my barely clad butt against his groin. Hey, I can't help that I'm a bit of a tease! He's just too adorably innocent...

"Oh well it was worth a shot. I'm going to go shower and get ready for the day. I will cook us some breakfast when I get back." I took a glance at Jack smiling...I couldn't really blame the guy for being a living statue. Just think about it...a healthy man in the morning...me purposefully rubbing against him. Damn, I'm good!
