One that got away
They all act, pretend, and move and prance, with an unusual gleam
Smiles and laughs, giggles and glory, slipping out from open seams
It's just a performance, where the world is but their stage
Deep down inside, they all hide,
Their audience not knowing this, even by mistake.
Well concealed behind the masks, and words we stay.
Living a life of plastic and knowing, that, "I was the one, one that got away.."
