All The Light In The World

Where had it been,
When I had its need -
All the light in the world?

Gone away,
Far, far away -
All the light in the world

When pain had stopped,
This broken heart, no soul sobbed
And no tear fell, for I was wretched,
For them, yes. I on and on, just watched

Where was it gone,
When fallen alone,
I lay on the cold ground,
With only pain all around.

Where was it when the kiss of death
So delicately, took away my breath-
All the light in the world?

And when it took me on, like a parent returned, farther away
From the faces I craved to see, and for them only to stay -
All the light in the world?

I fought it though, for long
Too, waiting for someone to come along
But all efforts just went in vain, mum,
I swear I had, tried to call for help, but all just acted dumb.

I'm afraid now, I'm happy here, my love,
Where death gives me all the love,
I always only longed, in life. And dad,
Despair thrashes me, at times, hurting bad.

But where had it been,
When I had it's need,
All the light in the world?

It had stayed away,
-From the dark, far away -
All the light in the world...
