peter richards

he saw elaine standing by the library

scribbling and erasing loudly. he wanted

to laugh and tease her but it was no good

time to even say a hi.

"oh hi..." she muttered not daring to call

out his name. his eyebrows fused together

that signified he was confused.

"hi elaine, what's up? normally, i wouldn't

see you in the library at this hour." it was

almost six in the evening. he learned a new

thing from her: the school nurse is her mother.

"ah, waiting for my mom. she's with ms. hemmings,

helping her in a program she'll do tomorrow. you know:

be responsible for your health program." elaine stammered,

closing her notebook knitting it towards her chest.

he felt something off of her.

he felt that she's hiding something from him.

he felt that he was being played by lies.

she is lying. he thought.

he stepped forward her. her face was inches away from

nibbling her ear but he didn't plan to do that. he was going

to be vigilant and strict.

"i said, what's up? whatt are you doing in the library

in this hour." he could hear her heart beat double in fear.

he wasn't a sweetheart, he was terrifying.

"nothing peter, there's nothing wrong."

he backed away from her. "well next time,

don't be too informative." his tired face swooped

the mind of elaine and with some words he left

he disappeared.

she closed her eyes, holding the notebook

close to her chest sliding downward to the ground

and felt the ground too cold.
