Alice’s POV
*Present Time*
We were only a few block from my house when Alex saw us walking hand in hand. I tried to pull away from Zach but his grip was too strong. I knew nothing good could come from all of us being in once space. Alex stomped over to us and smacked me across the face.
“You little bitch! I told you to stay away from him!” She yelled in my face and I hid behind Zach.
“Leave her alone Alex. That’s not why I called you” He said and she huffed.
“Then why is it?” She yelled.
“I’m breaking up with you!” He yelled back and I gripped the back of his shirt.
“Excuse me?” She said lowering her voice. I poked my head out from behind Zach and she looked like she was going to cry.
“You. Me. Are done. I am sick and tired of you being jealous of Alice. She has been nothing but nice to you and what do you do? Call her names and make her feel low! She is my best fucking friend and she supported our relationship. She wanted to be friends with you but you messed all that up when you decided to go around calling her a whore! You really don’t think I know what you say behind my back about her? Do you really think I would tolerate it? Hell no! I tried to have sex with you but you just said it would make you look like a slut” Zach said and I stepped out from behind him and put my hand on his arm.
“Zach walk away.” I said but he didn’t budge. I looked at him and it looked like he was going to cry. “Alex you are a slut. You give guys blowjobs and handjobs behind Zach’s back and I tell him because i’m his best friend.” I turned and looked at her and she put her hands up and punched me in the face. I stumbled backwards almost falling.
“Just leave bitch.” Zach sneered and I put my hand on my cheek and felt it throb. I watched as Alex walked away and I put my hand on Zach’s arm.
“Are you okay?” I asked and he looked at me with a hurt expression. He put his hand on my wrist and pulled it from my cheek. He dropped my arm so it falls to my sides. He cups my cheek and strokes my cheek with his thumb. I winced a little and watched as his expression mixed with guilt.
“I’m sorry she did that.. I didn’t know what was going to happen,” He said and I shrugged.
“It’s not you’re fault. I’m the one who meddled with your guy’s relationship. I’m the one who broke you guys up” I said and he shook his head sighing.
“I was gonna break up with her anyways. Too many people have told me about what she has done and i’m sick of it. I’m sick of her hurting you mentally and physically” He said and I nodded looking down.
“Can we go to your place? My parents aren’t going to be home until tomorrow night.” I said and he nodded.
“Do you need clothes for tomorrow?” He asked and I nodded. He took my hand and we walked back to my house. When we walked in, my dog Nika started barking.
“Nika! Shut up! You know him!” I yelled and she sat down. I rolled my eyes and ran up the stairs with Zach right behind me. We got into my room and I started put my clothes into my bag. Zach let’s me spend the night with him all the time if my parents aren’t home. They don’t approve of it but they thinks it’s better than going to my Aunt’s place. Something happened there that I hate talking about. My mom knows but not my dad.
“You ready?” He asked as I shoved my hairbrush in my bag. I nodded and we went to the bathroom. I grabbed my toothbrush and my hairspray and went down stairs. When I reached the bottom I went to grab Nika her food and water. I put them in her cage. I petted her and told her I loved her and we left. The whole ride to his house was silent. Once in a while I would looked over at Zach. When we got there I got out and grabbed my bag.
“Am I sleeping in your bed?” I asked him and he nodded. I walked up the steps and went inside. I went straight to Zach’s room and put my stuff at the end of his bed and laid on the bed.
“Are you sleepy?” He asked as I heard his footsteps coming to me and I groan.
“Yes.” I giggled and turned onto my back. I looked at him and sighed. Why did he have to be so fucking hot!? God i’m so stupid for falling for the one guy who would never like me in the way I like him.
“Do you want anything to eat? Or some ice on that cheek? It’s bruising already.” He sat down beside me and I sighed.
“No i’m okay. I think i’m just going to go to bed.” I said and stood up.
“What about homework?” He asked and I looked at him. We then burst out laughing. When we finally settled down Zach left the room so I could change really fast. I was in a oversize tee-shirt and some shorts. I crawled into his bed and he came into his room in nothing but his boxers. He looked at me and climbed on behind me.
“Alice you okay?” He asked and I turned and looked at him.
“Define okay.” I said and he put his head down so his hair was covering his eyes. I put my hand on his cheek and he looked at me. He closed his eyes and put his arm around my waist and pulled me to him, not letting me go. I smiled at the feeling. The electricity going through my body. I heard the front door open and close. I looked to find Jake, Zach’s Cousin.
“Hey Zach, you got Alex here?” He said and I winced at the name.
“No. It’s Alice. Alex and I broke up.” Zach said and held me to him. Zach and I both knew that Jake liked me. I have turned him down numerous times but he keeps coming.
“Well, since Alice is here wanna grab something to eat?” Jake asked annoyed. I could feel Zach roll his eyes at his cousin.
“No.” Zach said and Jake huffed in frustration.
“Why do you always hang around her when you have a hot babe under your arm?” Jake asked and I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Jake, sweetheart, he had many reason to break up with her. I’m just wondering why he never broke up with her before now” I said and looked at Zach. He looked down at me and smiled slightly.
“That is for another day. Let’s go to sleep.” He said and I nodded. I closed my eyes and let the sleep take over me. I don’t know if I heard the words right but it sounded like Zach said that he did it for me. I wanted to open my eyes just to make sure but I didn’t. I just fell into a nice slumber.
