A Mental Connection

I fell in love with his actions and words
He admired me for my mind
I needed his consistency
He gave me the freedom I sought
I chose to move away
He allowed me to stay away
In the end I was left wondering
Why were we a complete contradiction
Was it love?
Or was it merely attraction?
What is love anyway?
