Chapter Eleven

I laid in my bed with my headphones blasting music into my ears. It felt so good to finally be back home with the baby finally here we were a little family again even though we weren't completely whole. My music was playing so loudly I didn't even hear the pounding at my door until Thaniel burst in the room. I let out a small scream and jumped up so fast that my headphones were yanked from my ears as my iPod still laid on the bed.

"Thaniel, what the hell are you doing here!?" I yelled as he stood there in the doorway just staring at me.

"Um, you should really put a shirt on." He said with a cocky smirk as the startling realization that I only had on my black lace bra dawned on me and my arms quickly flew up to cover my chest.

"Turn around so that I can get dressed!" I said as a bright red blush crept up my cheeks.

"Why? I've already seen them now." He said as he laughed and all I wanted to do was to slap that cocky smile right off his damn face. He better be glad that he's cute.

Wait, did I just think that he was cute. No, no, no, no, no, he is arrogant, cocky, stuck up, really cute, ahh I did it again! I couldn't possibly think of liking Thaniel. I pulled a shirt over my head quickly and turned my evilest looking glare on him.

"Come on already! I wanna finish this damn project."

"Well, Mr. Impatient, let me get my laptop and we'll go in the kitchen to work." I said as I pulled my laptop and phone off of the bed.

Brushing past him I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen with my laptop and while it turned back on went about getting me a snack and both of us some drinks. As I was pouring two huge glasses full of Mountain Dew I looked over to see that he was actually serious about working this go round and was pulling out his notebooks and papers and was finding the printed out papers that contained what he had already researched on his own.

"You can go ahead and get online if you want while I do this." I said as I began to pull out a bag of Doritos and a bag of Ruffles Ultimate and poured each into their own huge bowl and got two smaller ones out to pour dip into.

"Nah, I'll wait on you. Gotta have your laptop password anyway." He said as he watched me spoon the dip into the bowls.

"Stomp1234. Go ahead and get online, Thaniel." I said as I carried the food to the table.

"Stomp1234, what the fuck kind of password is that." He said as he looked at me incredulously.

"A password you wouldn't have guessed, now log on already." He glared at me but still he turned the laptop and quickly typed it in the password and spun the laptop back towards me so I could type up the creative writing story that we had been paired up to do.

"Jessabelle..." I looked up from typing to find him staring directly at me.

"Yeah, Thaniel?" I said as I brushed my hair from my face.

"Do you um... like me?" He said as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck.

I coughed on the chip I had been eating but quickly cleared my throat and stared at him with shock clearly written on my face.

"Why would you even ask that! Of course I like you, Thaniel, you're one of my friends. At least I hope you are." I said as I shook my head and went back to typing.

"No, Jessabelle, I meant like-like. Like be my girlfriend like..." He said as his skin was tinted a rosy pink as he blushed.

"Are you trying to ask me out, Thaniel." I said as I looked up with one eyebrow raised.

"Uh-um, no of course not- yes. I wanted to ask you to go to the movies with me tonight, I'll take you to a restaurant in town too if you want!" He said as he looked at me with his usually blank face full of hope that I would tell him yes.

"I would love to, Thaniel," I said and winced when I saw his face brighten and continued, "But, I can't. I have to work tonight. I'm sorry."

My heart nearly broke when I saw Thaniel's face fall filled with disappointment so I said, "Thaniel, how about we go out tomorrow night, I really wish I could tonight."

"Really! That would be great!" He said as he jumped up and hugged me and did something I never expected. He kissed me. On the lips! He kissed me on the lips then ran out of the house leaving behind all of his stuff and me stunned at the table.
