                                                                Chapter 7

After getting lost several times we finally reached the Sports Center, pulling in we saw both buses parked out back with the rest of the cars.  We found a parking space, got out and walked to the entrance where people were going in.  Once inside, I felt my heart began beating faster, and my palms begin to sweat.  I knew Noah was near, I could feel it, but I couldn't see him or anyone from our school in the sea of faces, I grabbed Mina's hand and told her to not let go.

We pushed our way through the crowd, Mina right by my side, until finally we started seeing our school colors, then out of no where I saw Austin walk by, I immediately jumped up and grabbed his arm.

"Austin!" I said, he looked down at me, he was so tall I felt so small next to him.

"Oh, hey Emma!" He said, then frowned, "What are you doing here? I didn't see you on the bus."

"We drove here." I said pointing to me and Mina.

     "Really? Nice."

"Have you seen Noah?" I asked, not wanting to put it off longer then necessary.

"I have, he's on the other end." He said pointing at the opposite direction.  "And it's a good thing your here." He said giving me a knowing smile.

     "Why?"

He shrugged, "He seems really out of it for some reason." I couldn't help thinking it was my fault, and what he said reinforced that fact.

I had to find him and fast.

"Okay thank you, I'll take care of him.  .  .I mean it.  .  .I'll take care of it." I stammered to fix the sentence, he just smiled and try to suppress a laugh.

"Well whatever you do, do it fast because their up next to play."

"Okay" I said turning from him, I saw Mina give him a look and telling him to call her, "Come on Mina this is no time for you to chase Austin." I said tugging her by the arm.

"Come on, hes a free man, and I need to get myself my own man-candy." She said, I rolled my eyes at her as we made our way through the crowd.  There were people young and old pushing their way and pushing against us, some of them gave us hateful glares as we pushed through them, but we walked diligent in the direction Austin had pointed, and sure enough we began  to see people we recognized.  There was Anna and Janet from my English class, then up in the bleachers Oscar and Paul, who were in my psychology class, there were several freshman with their faces painted standing off to the side talking amongst themselves, but I didn't see any of the guys in the team and I definitely didn't see Noah either.

"Emma, I think everybody is sitting down." Mina said from behind me, I looked around and she was right, everybody around us began to find spots on the bleachers to sit, including people from our school, was the match about to start? I though, either way we ran to the bleachers where other people from our school were sitting at, Janet saw us and waved us over, she was a pretty Latina with big brown eyes and long silky raven black hair.
