At 5:45am, I was up. I stayed in my bed, hugging my blankets for a while until I was ready to start the day. I pushed off my white blanket and stood up, searching for my fluffy bunny slippers. Once found, I slipped it on and proceeded to my curtains where I pulled it to the side so that sunlight leaked into the room. As I walked into my bathroom, I realized how gross I looked through the mirror. I quickly brushed my teeth and hopped into the shower. After a nice, relaxing bath, I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around myself while searching my wardrobe for new set of clothes. We were required to wear our varsity shirts and long pants. Our shirts were short sleeved, green collared shirts with the a panther on the top right, the text "CNH" on top of it, and the american flag on our left sleeve. I decided on some comfy beige, slim fit jeans, a thin coffee brown belt and a pair of black flats.

After changing into those clothes, I brushed through my hair, and applied some eyeliner (just on my waterline), foundation, lip balm and concealer so I looked at least presentable for the hosts. I sprayed some Victoria Secrets "Pool Breeze" body mist on myself and felt much cleaner. I did my final packing (laptop, phone, pajamas, small pillow, pocket bible, chargers, towel, etc.) and zipped up my luggage. I said goodbye to my room, gently shut the door and dragged my bags - one luggage, one big sling on bag (like the ones you'd see basketball players carry), and one small aztec backpack with a small shoulder bag inside it.

I dragged all those things with me downstairs slowly, as I listened to the wheels of my luggage make contact with the wooden floor.

Thump thump thump.

I placed them outside our main door before heading to our kitchen. The kitchen was mainly made of white marble and the kitchen tools were made of steel. Beside the kitchen was our dining table - It was transparent, glassy, with tall, plush cream colored chairs tucked under it.

"Morning! Mom, dad." I greeted, even though I was still sleepy. They were already seated at the table. Boy, were they early risers. I think she and dad went on morning runs. That's why they were up so early.

"Morning Alina! Are you excited?" My mom asked.

"Yes, of course!"

"Alina, remember to be careful. Be polite, friendly, and help in whatever way you can. You're a guest. Behave." My dad said seriously while telling me the same things a billion times. Honestly, my dad didn't exactly want me to go because he'd miss me and also because he did not exactly support my sports. But i managed to convince him because it was something I loved and something that made me happy. I guess you could say both my parents were really strict with an additional antisocial/serious side for my dad and caring/bossy side for my mom.

"Yes dad." I answered.

After eating some cereal in comfortable silence, my mom announced, "It's 6:10. You better get going."

My parents gave me some more reminders and when I finally finished my cereal, I stood up, and walked up to the front door with my parents.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye." I say, while leaning in for a hug from both of them.

"Remember, win or lose, you'll always be a winner in our eyes. Don't forget to text or call. Or email. Just contact us! Love you darling." My mom reminded.

"Bye Alina. Good luck." My dad added.

"I love you all. Bye!" I picked up my 3 bags and headed down to the driveway. There, the early school bus was waiting.

I climbed onto the yellow bus, snagged a front seat and waved to my parents. My dad had short brown hair with grey eyes and my mom had blonde hair and blue eyes.
