Several things happened in quick succession. Harvey leapt backwards in surprise, somehow managing to knock free from his ear his Communicator. As he did, a second knife shot from above, imbedding itself into the trunk of a nearby tree. There was the sound of glass shattering, and then out of the shadows overhead there grew the silhouette of a flying carpet, rapidly descending.
