Chapter 16 ~ "So I guess this is where it ends for us..."

Genesis P.O.V

"I can do this" I mumbled to myself taking a deep breath and knocking on Dana's front door. Ever since we came back from Florida Dana has been distant. He didn't talk to me for almost 2 weeks! The guys and Sarah also informed me that he was being distant with them as well so I decided to come to Dana's house to try and talk to him to see what was going on. I stood there fiddling with my fingers as I waited nervously. The front door opened moments later. It was Dana's mom

"Hi Mrs. Vaughns" I said with a smile. She smiled wide

"Genesis! how are you dear!" She said wrapping her arms around me and pulling me in for a tight hug. I smiled. Dana's mom is probably the sweetest person I have ever met. She pulled away and smiled. 

"How you feeling?" She asked. I smiled

"I'm a little better actually" I said referring to the whole Jake fiasco. Since Dana came home with a bruised eye and a busted lip, he was forced to tell his mom what happened, she thankfully agreed to not tell my parents about what happened and she would regularly check up on me to see how I was doing. 

"Let me see those bruises" She said as I rolled up the sleeves of my sweater to show her my bruises. It's been nearly two weeks and I still have the marks from when Jake grabbed my wrist. Because of how hard he grabbed my wrists the bruises were taking a while to fully heal. She grabbed my wrists softly examining the marks

"Well they are almost fully healed..which is good" She said glancing up at me and smiling. I giggled slightly. "Now I'm sure you're here to see Dana...he's upstairs in his room, you can go on up there" She said with a nod

"Thank you momma V" I said calling her by the nickname I assigned to her when we met. She smiled closing the front door after she fully let me in. I made my way upstairs to Dana's room. I was standing in front of his door and I could feel my heart beat quicken. I knocked on the door softly

"Come in" I heard his muffled voice say. I opened the door slowly. Dana was laying on his bed with his computer playing music. He glanced at me and his expression changed. He looked almost scared. I cleared my throat nervously

"H-hey" I said closing the door softly. 

"Uh..hi" He said standing up quickly and pausing his music. "W-what are you doing here?" He asked looking at me with a weird expression. I felt slightly insecure

"I uh....I came to see you...we haven't really seen each other since Florida..." I said nervously

"Oh uh yeah" He said with a nod. I looked down as the awkward silence took a toll. I looked up at him to see him staring at the floor as well

"Can we talk?" I asked making him look up at me. He nodded and sat on his bed motioning me to sit down next to him. 

"W-What'd you want to talk about?" He asked once I sat down.

"Is everything okay?" I asked looking over at him "No one has seen you around...You haven't really answered any of our texts or calls...You kind of have us all worried" I added. He shook his head

"I'm fine...I've just been....ya know busy..." He said looking away

"I...I've kinda really needed you..." I mumbled looking down. He sighed

"Sorry" He mumbled. I looked up. There is something seriously wrong with him

"Sorry?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows. He sighed once more

"I don't know what you want me to say Gen" He said shaking his head. 

"I want my best friend back!" I said shaking my head "The one that would talk to me and help get through things when I needed him" I said making him look up at me
