She said I'm nervous
He said Don't be I'm always here
I'll protect you
He broke that promise
Where was he when
She was crying herself to sleep?
Where was he
When everyone gathered around to make her cry
Oh right
He was in the crowd helping them
He let her down
He made her cry
When she was wondering when it would all end
He was out partying with his friends
Not a regard in the world for her
She decided to give up
After a month of trying
Her knight really was gone
Now he was the villain
Leaving her to wonder
What did I do?
He watched from the sidelines
When she cried on the bleachers
Waiting for him to come back to her
Her cries unanswered
She pleaded with him
Until she stopped trying
She tried one last time
Begging him to come back to her
She was nervous
Playing with that old baseball
In her room
Waiting for that beep of her phone
Signaling he's coming back to her
Eventually she feel asleep
With dried tear tracks on her cheek
She woke up in the morning
And to her surprise it was from him
I'm so sorry. I love you can I come back?
She finally had him back
As they say
No pain no gain
