My pain is real
But you give it the brush off
You see my fake smiles
And my brimming tears in my eyes
You tell yourself that i'm lying and
You break my heart when you do
I take blow by blow from you and
After nine innings i'm still here
But you're still pretending that
My pain isn't real and that
It isn't mostly caused by you
That it doesn't hurt you too
In your eyes I can see the pain that reflect
Mine
You hit me harder and harder
Past my breaking point
But you don't even care
All you care about is yourself
You let them hurt me so bad
You don't defend me
Only play along
And in the end that brings me more pain
Than the punches they throw
Because you're the one who pretends to care
The one who causes both of us
Pain
