Ricky knew this wasn't a 'Hello, I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you' hug.
But Jack didn't.
I stayed hugging Ricky for a minute, then turned to find Jack.
But he wasn't there.
I saw Sadie peeking from inside the church, and I gave her a pained look. She pointed towards the doors leading outside.
I mouthed a quick thank you and hurried off, leaving Ricky standing behind me.
I was moving so fast down the long hallway that I tripped over my dress, tearing the hem.
I didn't care about the dress right now, though. I had to find Jack, to tell him--
I stopped short. I had reached the doors leading outside, and through the stained glass I saw Jack slowly walking down the steps. His head was down and his hands were in his pockets.
I knew that pose all to well.
It was his 'Don't bother me' pose.
But I did it anyway.
I pushed open the doors and stepped outside.
