~a week later~
Work has become busy lately
It's December now so I gotta worry about Christmas & Christmas gifts
I've been so overwhelmed plus with wedding plans
I haven't slept well..
I'm typing away on the computer when I completely lose it & I yell while bursting out crying
Out of frustration
Zoe runs in & comforts me
"Hey hey..it's okay your not alone.." She says rubbing my back
She wiped my tears & looks at me
"No more paperwork..I'll have Miranda deal with these. You just finish up on the love article if you can if not..you can do it tomorrow." She says referring to the other article I'm writing for this magazine
I nod & she grabs all of the paperwork
"I'll get you coffee okay?" She asks
I nod again & I recline my chair back a little
Since Zoe left my door cracked open a little
I hear people walking pass
While I'm trying to relax
I take a moment to close my eyes
but quickly open them when I hear my name
"OMG Ziah Jones is so ugly..I don't get how such a handsome guy like Nate Maloley would date a...black girl like her..black girls are loud,obnoxious & have bad hair." I hear one of the co-workers say
My heart breaks
Again I go through racism in the workplace
"Ziah is just a black girl. White women are more smarter than black girls & will know how to be a better wife to Nate rather than her."
"Omg I know right!"
"Ziah's family were scoundrels back in history & will be scoundrels to this day"
I blow up & storm out to face them
They freeze upon seeing me
"So. I'm ugly...I'm not smart....I'm not a good wife? Hell..you white women are trophy wives..you guys just sit down & look pretty...black & Latin women hustle to make a living & you have the nerve to talk shit about us? Nate loves me the way I am....which I see why you think I'm ugly...you guys cover your faces with pounds of makeup so someone could find you beautiful..so get over yourselves...don't hate girls because I'm beautiful" I say & flip my hair
"Oh btw you forgot I'm also part Dominican which is Latina you fools..educate yourselves" I add smirking & walk away leaving them speechless
I grab my stuff & Zoe walks to me
"What was all that?" She asks referring to the girls
"Nothing. I handled business" I say confidently & grab her hand
"Let's go." I add
She nods & we head out..
~12am~
I'm relaxing in bed catching up with the final season of The Vampire Diaries
Nate texts me
"I'm coming over ;)"
"Come right over. Niya's on a date with Johnson. We're all alone ;)" I text back
A loud banging comes from the door
I open the door & Nate slams his lips on mine
I raise a eyebrow
"Well damn that was too fast" I say laughing
He giggles & takes off his heavy jacket
"How was your day today?" He asks & wraps his arms around me
"It was going horrid until Zoe helped out with getting rid of the paperwork, I did my love article & then got in a fight"
"Whoa whoa what?" He says looking worried
"Did you get hurt?" He asks searching for bruises or cuts on me
I laugh
"No. I kinda told off my co-workers that's all" I say
"Kinda?" He says smirking
"Okay I told them off bad" I say covering my face
"Babe" he says laughing
"What? They got me upset..they said offensive things" I say frowning
He pecks my lips
"Next time call me..my studio is near your job you know." He says
"I didn't want to bother you." I say pouting
"It's never a bother to me baby if it's you.." He says & cuddles me in his arms
"My strong girl" he whispers as he holds me in his arms...
