Rivers P.O.V

Derek put on a pair of dark jeans and a black button up shirt he sat on the bed so I walked over to him and kissed his head and made him look at me. "you be there alpha and tell them what happened I will be there the whole time holding your hand" I looked at him as he pressed his lips gently against mine. "I love you so much, your my anchor to hold me down" I blush and give him a soft smile. "but your the rope to help me not stay at the bottom all the time, if that even makes sense " I giggle

He chuckled and looked at me " it makes sense lets go before we are late" he frowned as he stood up. I hold his hand as we walk to the ball room and stand at the top of the stairs, everyone quiets down

Derek's P.O.V

I stand at the top of the top of the stairs and kept hold of Rivers hand I was beyond nervous. I didn't want to talk about my mothers death and me killing my father but the pack had the right to know and I cant keep a secret like that from them."ladies and gentlemen, your Luna and my mother has collapsed and passed away"

 There was a gasp in the crowd and a couple of sobs from the pack. I squeeze her hand I was being strong and stopped myself from crying I couldn't be week in front of my pack. "my father went out of control and tried attacking my mate and scratched me very badly...I tried to get my father to stop but.... it came to the point to where I had to kill him" I said with a small crack in my voice.

 I heard the sobs from the crowd and some sobs "I am going to inform you that I am the new alpha and my mate will be your new luna, my second in command Dillion and I have a new schedule for patrol up in the hallway please go to Dillion if you have any concerns or problems with the schedule."

I walk out and go to our room, behind me River ran up to me and hugged me "hey look at me " she said softly, I look down at her "you are a strong alpha, i'm gonna get a bath started and have the maids bring up dinner to us" she said calmly.                

Rivers P.O.V

I walk into the room with him and kiss him then hugged him "everything will slowly get better" I said softly and looked at him. His eyes where red from crying, I kiss his head "we will get through this I will always be here for you" I smiled as he pulled me into a hug and nuzzled my neck "I love you" he mumbled into my neck "I love you to" I smiled

I started walking away but he pulled me close " no I just want to relax and stay in bed" He said looking up at me. I nod and smiled "okay" so we lay in bed and fall asleep slowly his arms wrapped around my waist with his head on my stomach.
